About Us
In building upon an impressive and positive turnaround of the Miss Universe Jamaica brand, franchise managers, Uzuri International will continue to foster and promote more than just a beauty pageant with the Miss Universe Jamaica brand, but a beauty movement to act on several levels in support of nation building. Our primary objective is to provide Jamaican young women with opportunities for greater economic independence. The training programme seeks to furnish contestants with executive and life skills, so they can perform effectively in corporate and social environments, earn a living and make significant contributions to the development of their country and society.
On another level, we unearth local talent in the performing arts and facilitate synergies within the creative industries to provide economic opportunities.
We brought a new level of charity outreach to the beauty industry to give back to less fortunate Jamaicans.
Finally, we provide a unique, innovative and effective platform with immense promotional opportunities for your brand, with our partnerships involving the print, electronic and social media.
Our Charities
MISS UNIVERSE JAMAICA “GO GETTER” INITIATIVE
The “GO GETTER” (Giving Our Girls Educational Tools To Enrich & Reward) initiative raises funds through Miss Universe Jamaica activities to award full scholarships to academically gifted, but needy primary schoolgirls for five-year high school attendance. The scholarships are awarded every five years. Between the five year periods, associate scholarships are awarded annually to assist other needy high & primary schoolgirls with books, meals, transportation, uniforms, personal items and school related expenses.

She is on a full scholarship from the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization for the five years she will be attending the Titchfield High School.
“GO GETTER” BOOT CAMP
Another component of the “GO GETTER” programme, is that the Miss Universe Jamaica title holders’ duties include visiting inner city and rural schools with at-risk girls and coaching them in personal development, social graces, general awareness, basic hygiene and conducting motivational presentations.
MISS UNIVERSE JAMAICA ALTRUISM AWARD
This year, we have continued with the Altruism Award, whereby, each contestant is charged with the responsibility of identifying a social need or challenge in their community, providing solutions to address that need and in so doing, enhance the lives of the individuals concerned. The Altruism Award will be presented to the contestant who raises the most funds for her target charity and has the greatest impact on wellness, nation building and the overall enhancement of life and humanity.
MISS UNIVERSE JAMAICA IS ANTI BULLYING AMBASSADOR
Each year, the reigning Miss Universe Jamaica is appointed an Ambassador of the Le Antonio’s End Bullying Campaign.
